Gop IIC caught red-handed while accepting bribe

Puri: The Vigilance sleuths on Monday arrested the Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of Gop Police Station in Puri district after he was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe reportedly to settle a dispute.
As per sources, few days back a group clash had erupted during a wedding function in Nuakholamara Oratanda village.
After both the groups lodged complaints, the IIC Soumyajit Mishra demanded a bribe of Rs 3000 from one group to settle the dispute.
Following this, someone reported the matter to Vigilance officials and subsequently a trap was laid by the sleuths to nab the cop.
The IIC was caught red-handed today and later arrested by the Vigilance officials, sources said.
