Keonjhar: A flying squad of excise department on Tuesday raided a house at Naupur village under Nandipada police limits and seized ganja worth Rs 10 lakh.

The officials accompanied by excise sleuths from Bhadrak and Balasore division raided the residence of one Kanhu Jena and seized more than one quintal of the contraband. While, Kanhu is absconding since the raid, his wife Swarnaprava Jena was arrested and forwarded to the court.

“More than one quintal of ganja worth Rs 10 lakh was seized during the raid. We have arrested wife of Kanhu Jena. Efforts are on to nab him too,” informed Inspector-in-Charge of the squad, Sarat Chandra Bhanja. Further investigation into the case in on.
