Kendrapara: As the five-day remand period of notorious gangster Sayed Usman Ali alias Tito ended today, the Crime Branch of Odisha Police will produce Tito before the Kendrapara SDJM Court.

Sources said the CB officials are considering taking him on remand for three more days for further interrogation on his crime network, business network and inter-state links.

During this remand period, the CB officials sealed a petrol pump, a real estate office and a garment showroom and mobile store in Kendrapara owned by his younger brother.

The Crime Branch had also written to banks to freeze the accounts belonging to the gangster and his family members.

It is suspected that Tito’s business operations are spread in Kolkata, Andhra Pradesh and Goa and are linked with some criminal activities, police sources said.

The CB had also conducted a raid on his residence ‘Kobra Manzil’ at Dilawarpur under Town police limits in Kendrapara.

Several incriminating documents including Kashmir-related books were seized during the raids following which the CB has launched a probe into the gangster’s links with Kashmir, informed sources.

Earlier, Tito was arrested following an encounter by Special Task Force (STF) of Crime Branch near Chandikhole in Jajpur on June 30.

As per sources, more than 100 cases including murder, tender fixing, and other crimes are pending against Tito in different police stations of the State. He was also allegedly involved in the attack on terror suspect Abdur Rehman’s brother at Jagatpur in Cuttack.
