Four fake RTO officials held in Rourkela

Rourkela: The Rourkela Police today arrested four persons for allegedly extorting money from several persons by posing as RTO officials in Koida area in Sundergarh district. As per reports, the four fake RTO officials were produced before court while a SUV, Rs 10,000 cash and several uniforms were seized from their possession.

A teacher and a forest guard are among the four arrested in connection with the fraud. Police sources said the accused were intercepting vehicles and collecting money from the drivers on February 3, 4 and 5 night posing as RTO officials.

“We have arrested the four accused for collecting money from some drivers and seized a car and Rs 10,000 cash. Further investigation in connection with the incident is on,” said Rourkela SP, Uma Shankar Das.
