Firing On Doctor: Khurda Police Releases Photo Of Suspect, Announces Reward For Info

Khurda: The district police today released a photo of the suspect involved in the firing on two persons including a paediatrician, Manas Das at Badashakha market in Khurda Town on December 15.

Addressing a presser, Khurda SP Ajay Pratap Swain also announced provision of cash reward for those who can give information on the killer.

“The four teams formed to investigate the case are continuing probe. We have released a photo of the suspect and anyone who brings information about the assailant will be rewarded by Khurda Police and his identity will also be kept secret,” announced Sahoo.

The doctor who was shot at during the incident is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar while a pharmacist Krushna Chandra Sahoo who also sustained gun shot wounds had already succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment few days back.

“The doctor is gradually recovering. After he gets well completely, we hope he will give us vital information in connection with the case,” said the SP.

Though the exact reason behind the attack is yet to be established, the SP further said the miscreant was hired by someone to execute the crime.
