Rourkela: A female student of a private engineering college in Rourkela was abducted and gang raped for two days by six youths at Lotapahar area in Jharkhand.

As per the complaint report, the girl, a resident of Jharsuguda was going to her home during vacation on December 31 from Rourkela.

While she was waiting at the Rourkela railway station, a youth introduced himself as a friend of her brother and travelled with her. Later, he convinced her to get down at the Lotapahar station in Jharkhand  and take a bus to Jharsuguda.

Subsequently, after getting down from the train, the youth took her to a house at Lotapahar where five more youths gang raped her for two days. Later, the accused abandoned the rape survivor and fled the spot.

The girl somehow managed to lodge an FIR at Chakradharpur police station in Jharkhand with the help of some locals following which police sent her to Rourkela.

Later, she and her family members managed to lodge a police complaint with the help of a social activist at Rourkela Government Railway Police station on Sunday.

“I took her to the Rourkela Government Railway Police station and lodged a complaint into the incident,” said the social activist, Prakash Paswan.

After the registration of an FIR at Rourkela Government Railway Police station, the girl was sent for medical examination. While the condition of the girl is stated to be critical, a police investigation into the case is currently underway.
