Engineering student arrested for illegally transporting 100 litre country-made liquor in Balasore

Balasore: Police have arrested an engineering student for illegally transporting country-made liquor in Gopalpur village under Khantapada police limits in Balasore district.

According to reports, Khantapada police seized 100 litres of alcohol and a bike from the possesion of the student.

The student named Minaketan Giri hailing from Makalpur village was reportedly riding a bike while carrying the country made liquor stored in jars. The accused was on his way to Dhamra from Balasore when a team of police nabbed the student near Paikasta area after receiving a tipoff.

Earlier, multiple cases of similar trade via national highway-16 in Balasore have been reported. Last year, around 1000 litres of country liquor was seized in Matiapalli under Soro block of the district.
