Elderly Man Found Murdered In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Monday intensified probe after body of an elderly man was found with slit throat inside a dormitory near Old Station Bazar area in Bhubaneswar.

Though the identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that the elderly man was murdered.

As per reports, a youth had accompanied the elderly man to the dormitory and requested for room. The staff reportedly asked them to submit identity proof but as the duo insisted on using the washroom, they were allowed to come in.

It is suspected that the youth might have killed the elderly man by slitting his throat with a razor blade following some dispute.

Sources said that the accused youth escaped from the spot on the pretext of going to the nearby market to purchase soap for the elderly person.

On getting information, a team of Laxmisagar Police rushed to the spot and initiated a probe. CCTV camera footage is also being examined.
