Elderly couple attacked in Nuapada, admitted to hospital

Nuapada: An elderly couple was attacked by an unidentified youth in Kantapalli village under Komna police limits of the district here late on Friday night.

The incident occurred while the couple, identified as Adaram Sabara and his wife Bimala Sabara, was sleeping in their home. Suddenly a person barged into their house and attacked with sharp weapons before fleeing the spot.

The injured duo was immediately admitted to the Komna Medical in a critical condition.

However, the miscreant could not be identified. A case has been registered following a complaint by the couple. Police have initiated an investigation.

The cause of the attack is yet to be ascertained. Efforts are on to identify and nab the attacker, police said.
