Dreaded criminal injured during encounter in Kendrapara

Kendrapara: A dreaded criminal Sanjay Biswal alias Babu suffered injuries on his left leg during an encounter with Pattamundai police at Karunti Chhak in Rajnagar area of Kendrapara on Monday.

As per reports, Sanjay, who received bullet wound on his left leg, was initially admitted to Rajnagar community health centre (CHC) and later shifted to District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Sanjay was the main accused in the firing incident at Kandira village in Kendrapara yesterday. Following the incident, police had intensified patrolling in the locality to nab Sanjay, informed sources.

Although Sanjay was trying to flee the spot, a special team led by Rajnagar SDPO (Sub-Divisional Police Officer) managed to nab him.

Sources said several criminal cases including that of murder and snatching are pending against Sanjay.
