Double Murder Over Suspected Witchcraft In Odisha

Keonjhar: A youth and an elderly man accused of witchcraft were allegedly beaten to death in Nenkadapalli village under Bamebari police limits in Keonjhar district late last night. The deceased have been identified as an uncle-nephew duo, Chetan Munda (27) and Subash Munda (60).

One Rama Munda of the same village along with some other people of the village allegedly barged into their house on Monday and strangulated Subash to death. Later, they reportedly beat Chetan to death.

As per reports, Rama was suspecting Chetan and Munda of performing black magic on his daughter who was repeatedly falling sick. Later when the condition of his daughter didn't improve, he along with some other villagers orchestrated a plan to eliminate the duo.

Police have detained Rama in connection with the incident while other accused are currently absconding.
