Cops brutally thrash man in public; video goes viral

Koraput: In yet another instance of police excess, two cops have been accused of brutally thrashing a man in public at Dharaguda under Baipariguda Police limits of Koraput district. The incident surfaced after the video purportedly showing two police officials beating up the man went viral on social media.

As per reports, the man was held on charges of smuggling ganja (dry cannabis) from the cut-off areas in Malkangiri district.

Following public outrage, Koraput SP Kanwar Vishal Singh informed that the SDPO has already been directed to conduct a probe into the matter.
