Bhubaneswar: Two days after busting an illegal gun manufacturing unit in Bhubaneswar, the Commissionerate Police on Wednesday busted an illegal firearm trading network and seized four guns and bullets from the possession of a man outside the main railway station. The accused, identified as Sangram Nath, has been arrested by the police.

According to the police, Nath used to buy firearms from Munger area of Bihar and sell it at higher prices in Odisha.

"The accused used to buy the guns from Munger area of Bihar at Rs 15,000 and sell it for Rs 30,000 to Rs 35,000 per gun in Odisha. We are trying to find out who else is involved in the case," said Bhubaneswar DCP Anup Sahu.

Earlier on Monday, Commissionerate Police busted an illegal gun manufacturing unit that was operating from a government quarter inside Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) campus in Bhubaneswar. The factory was busted following an explosion inside the unit.

Three half-made pistols, gunpowder and other articles used in gun making were seized from the illegal firearms factory.
