Brown Sugar Seized In Odisha; 2 Drug Peddlers Held

Balasore: Police arrested two drug peddlers and seized 38.64 gm brown sugar from Markona area under Simulia Police limits in Balasore district on Monday.

According to reports, Simulia Police arrested the accused while they were heading to Bhadrak on a bike. Police had specific intelligence regarding the transportation of the contraband items. The market value of the seized brown sugar is estimated to be around Rs 3.80 lakh.

IIC of Simulia Police Station, Sanjay Parida said the arrested drug peddlers have been identified as
Faiz Mohammad and Ashiq Khan, both residents of Rathipur village in Khordha district.

Sources said, that they were smuggling the drugs from Jaleswar to Bhadrak via Balasore.

The police have filed a case against them and forwarded them to court.

Meanwhile, police officials said that they are further interrogating the accused to get more information about involvement of others in the racket.
