Block Chairman In Odisha Arrested For Thrashing Man

Nuapada: A panchayat samiti chairperson was arrested today in Nuapadaon charges of assault &vandalism at Putupada under Khariar Police limits on December 24.

The accused identified as BalkrushnaSabar had allegedly thrashed one Sunil. According to reports, Sabar reportedly had gone to Putupada after getting information regarding a clash on December 24.

It is alleged that Sabar instigated agitators who later ransacked the autorickshaw of the complainant, Sunil.

Sabar had also allegedly thrashed Sunil and his father when the latter reportedly had gone to lodge a police complaint. It is alleged that Sabar also hurled abuses at some police personnel on duty.

Senior police officials informed that based on the complaint, Sabar, against whom 14 cases were pending at different police stations in the district, was arrested and has been produced before court.
