Bhubaneswar: Even two days after the brutal murder of Amaresh Nayak near Housing Board Colony area under Airfield Police limits in Bhubaneswar, police are yet to make any headway in connection with the case and the miscreants are still at large.

Police are yet to ascertain whether Nayak was murdered following a dispute over bursting of crackers or over past enmity.

"I am not sure over what issues my brother was killed, but as per his friends, he was killed over some dispute regarding bursting of fire crackers," said Avinash Nayak, bother of the deceased.

Bhubaneswar DCP Anup Sahoo said that samples have been collected from the spot and the cops are identifying the persons involved in the murder. "Those involved in the crime will be arrested soon,” he added.

Nayak was allegedly attacked by a group of people with sharp weapons during Diwali celebrations on Sunday. Though he was immediately rushed to Capital Hospital, doctors declared him brought-dead.
