ASI suspended for kidnapping, raping minor girl in Bargarh

Bargarh: An Assistant Sub Inspector of Sohela police station has been suspended for allegedly raping a Class X girl student along with another youth in Bargarh.

The accused identified as ASI Banmali Kuanr and Riku Nag of Melchhamunda village had kidnapped the girl on February 8 and subsequently raped her.

Later, the girl was rescued by Melchhamunda police and admitted to Bargarh hospital where she is currently undergoing treatment. The girl’s father had demanded action against the accused cop.

In another incident, a Class II girl student was allegedly raped in Bangiriposi area in Mayurbhanj district on Sunday. After the mother of the girl lodged a complaint at the Bangiriposi police station, police registered a case and detained a minor boy.
