9-Year-Old Girl Allegedly Raped, Dumped In Odisha

Sundergarh: A 9-year-old girl was allegedly raped and dumped in Jhirpani area of Sundergarh district. As per reports, the survivor had gone for tuition classes on Saturday but didn't return following which her family members launched a frantic search.

Later, on Sunday morning, the girl was found in a critical condition dumped near her house. Some locals spotted the girl and informed the family members.

Subsequently, the survivor was admitted to hospital through the help of an NGO. Though police have launched an investigation into the case, no arrests have been made yet.

"The incident happened while she was returning back from tuition. Her health condition deteriorated later and she is now at the hospital," said the survivor's father.

Santosh Biswal, a member of an NGO, said, "She was very scared when we found her. Later, we took the girl to child welfare committee after meeting her parents. Someone sexually assaulted her after luring her with chocolates."
