3 aides of D-Brothers held, arms seized

Cuttack: Commissionerate police arrested three criminals including Lalan Gupta, one of the close aides of gangsters-Sushil and Sushant Dhal Samant on Sunday. A country made double barrel fire arm and two rounds of live ammunition have been recovered from his possession.

The breakthrough came for police after a special team intercepted Lalan, who was traveling along with two of his associates-Chanda Behera of Machua Baazar and Biranchi Nayak of Seikh Baazar towards near CDA yesterday.

The raid was conducted basing on intelligence input that the criminals were on their way to strike a firearms deal.

Senior police officials informed that the criminals were key associates of Dhal Samant brothers and were involved in extortion and arms racket and several other crimes in the city.
