Counsellor level talks to liberalise visa regime will be held here later this month to improve visa procedures to facilitate more people-to-people contacts between the two countries, Indian Embassy sources here told PTI.
Indian Ambassador to China S Jaishankar, who has returned from New Delhi after consultations, would take up the issue of the need for evolving a mechanism on the river waters with the Chinese government, the sources said.
The discussions are ongoing and India will continue to press China to address its concerns regarding the river waters, the sources said, adding the meeting on river waters is due to take place next month.
Besides Brahmaputra, Indus and Sutlej also emanate from China and flows into India and the two countries currently have a mechanism to share the hydrological data.
