Washington: IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde has said the European Union and Britain need to show progress in talks on Britain's exit from the European bloc to ease concerns about the effects of Brexit.

"Brexit is an ongoing process and our hope is that it be conducted promptly to reduce the level of uncertainty and the anxiety of people about the outcome and the situation of people first, of business second," Efe news quoted Lagarde as saying here on Thursday at the International Monetary Fund-World Bank Annual Assembly.
