While gold recovered by Rs 25 (USD 0.47) to Rs 28,810 per 10 grams, silver gained Rs 250 to Rs 53,750 per kg. Traders said emergence of buying at prevailing lower levels mainly helped both gold and silver prices to recover.

In the national capital, gold of 99.9 and 99.5 per cent purity recovered by Rs 25 each to Rs 28,810 and Rs 28,670 per 10 grams, respectively. The metal had lost Rs 155 on Friday. Sovereigns remained steady at Rs 23,700 per piece of eight grams on limited deals.
