Berlin: Three persons were killed in a small plane crash in Germany, the media reported.

The accident on Thursday took place in Ravensburg, in the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg, Xinhua news agency reported.

The Cessna Citation Mustang Model 510 was on its way from the Frankfurt-Egelsbach airfield to Friedrichshafen, but went down in a forest area, Germany's Southwest Broadcasting company reported.

The aircraft suddenly lost the radio contact, according to the report.

The reason of the accident is still unclear.

The rescue work, made difficult due to snowfall, is underway.
