No major change in day, night temperatures across Odisha for next week

The weather across Odisha is expected to remain largely steady over the next week, bringing a sense of stability after recent temperature fluctuations. According to the latest forecast, there will be no major change in both day and night temperatures across the state for the next six to seven days.

In the past 24 hours, however, parts of Odisha witnessed noticeable variations. The maximum temperature, or day temperature, recorded an appreciable rise of around 2 degrees Celsius at one or two places, while remaining largely unchanged in most districts. At some isolated locations, temperatures were about 2 degrees below normal, whereas a few areas experienced temperatures 2 to 3 degrees above normal. In the remaining regions, the mercury stayed close to seasonal averages.

The night temperature told a slightly different story. A marked rise of 4 to 5 degrees Celsius was observed at one or two places, with an additional 2 to 3 degree increase reported at a few isolated locations. Across Interior Odisha, temperatures varied significantly dipping 2 degrees below normal in some pockets while climbing up to 4 degrees above normal in others. Coastal Odisha experienced comparatively warmer nights, with many places recording temperatures 2 to 3 degrees above normal.

Adding to the changing weather pattern, moderate fog was reported at one or two places in Khordha district of South Coastal Odisha during the past 24 hours. The fog slightly affected early morning visibility, reminding residents of the seasonal transition currently underway.

Despite these short-term variations, meteorologists indicate that no major temperature shift is expected in the coming week. With stable weather conditions likely to prevail, Odisha residents can anticipate relatively consistent days and nights ahead, though early morning fog in isolated areas may persist.
