Normal life at several places in Odisha was affected due to intense cold conditions. As per India Meteorological Department (IMD), several districts recorded minimum temperature (night) below 10 degree Celsius.

As per the latest data, G.Udaygiri in Kandhamal district and Semeliguda in Koraput recorded lowest minimum temperature of 8 degrees on Saturday. Besides, 10 places recorded minimum temperature of 10 degrees or above.

Here are the top coldest places in Odisha:

Kirei (Sundargarh): 9.5

Daringbadi (Kandhamal): 10

Earlier, the IMD had predicted a rise in the minimum temperature in different parts of the state.

“No large change in Minimum temperature (Night Temperature) during next 2 to 3 days and thereafter slight rise by 2°C at many places over the districts of Odisha,” IMD’s regional centre tweeted on November 18.

Meanwhile, the depression over southwest and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal remained practically stationary and lay centred over the same region, said IMD.

As per the IMD, it is very likely to maintain its intensity of depression and move slowly west-northwestwards towards North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and south Andhra Pradesh coasts during the next 48 hours.
