Similarly, a yellow alert has been issued for Gajapati, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, and Koraput districts, where rainfall of 7 to 11 cm is expected at one or two locations.

In other districts, scattered thunderstorms with rain and wind are possible. Wind speeds may reach 30–40 km/h in several areas and 40–50 km/h at isolated locations.

On Friday, rainfall and wind activity are expected to intensify further. Rayagada and Koraput have been placed under orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall while nine districts in northern and coastal Odisha are under yellow alert.

On September 27, the state is likely to experience severe stormy rainfall, as the low-pressure area over the central Bay of Bengal may intensify into a depression, affecting southern Odisha and northern Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea.
