Around 4 a.m., during early-morning rituals, the dog began barking, irritating some members of the groom’s party. Allegedly, a young man from the groom’s side kicked or beat the dog in an attempt to silence it, triggering outrage from the bride’s relatives.

Eyewitnesses say the argument quickly escalated into a physical clash, with chairs and sticks reportedly used during the scuffle, and several people sustained injuries. Police were called to the scene at a guest house in the Khaga area, eventually mediating between the families. Despite efforts to settle the matter, the bride reportedly refused to proceed with the marriage.
