Pakistani social media influencer and TikToker Alina Amir has strongly denied claims of a leaked private video circulating online, calling the viral content an AI-generated deepfake aimed at maligning her reputation.
The controversy follows a recent surge in fake ‘MMS leaked’ trends involving female influencers, driven by manipulated videos and misleading search keywords.
Breaking her silence on Instagram, Alina said she initially chose not to respond but decided to speak out after noticing obscene screenshots and viral posts falsely linked to her name. She stated that cyber criminals had allegedly replaced her face in an explicit video using artificial intelligence to spread misinformation.
Condemning the act, Alina urged people to verify content before sharing it online and warned against the growing misuse of AI technology to harass women. She appealed to Punjab Province Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to take strict action against those responsible for creating and circulating such fabricated videos.
Calling deepfake content a form of harassment, Alina said such attacks are not limited to public figures but also affect ordinary women, often causing severe emotional distress to victims and their families. She praised the Punjab Cyber Crime Department for its efforts and demanded stronger enforcement and punishment for offenders.
The influencer also announced a cash reward for anyone providing credible information about the individuals behind the fake video. Meanwhile, cyber experts have cautioned users against clicking on suspicious links claiming to host the alleged video, warning that many are scams designed to steal personal or financial information.
Alina Amir rose to popularity after her recreation of a Bollywood dialogue went viral, earning her the nickname “Sarsarahat Girl.” She currently has over 2.5 million followers on Instagram and nearly 2.3 million followers on TikTok.
Authorities have repeatedly advised the public to report deepfake content and avoid amplifying unverified material online.
