In an intriguing incident, a married woman in Uttar Pradesh allegedly eloped with her lover with cash and gold ornaments after intoxicating her in-laws. The woman and her lover have now been arrested, informed police.

According to reports, Sobha allegedly eloped with her lover, who has been identified as Ahsan alias Panga.

The incident was reported from Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Reportedly, Sobha made her in-laws unconscious by giving them sleeping pills in tea and then took jewellery worth Rs 4.5 lakh in addition to cash around Rs 50,000 and fled with her lover.

According to AajTak, Sobha’s husband Vikash had filed a complaint against her and her lover, Ahsan, on November 13 alleging that his wife eloped with Ahsan with all their valuables. Following which the police launched an investigation into the matter and nabbed Sobha and Ahsan four days after the incident.

During interrogation, Sobha revealed that she had befriended Ahsan of East Patti town on Instagram. Eventually, they fell in love with each other. However, she was married off to Vikash, a resident of the same area as Ashan. 

Meanwhile, police have registered a case and further investigation is underway. Police have also recovered the jewellery and Rs 42,450 cash from their possession.
