Passengers onboard an IndiGo flight were in for an unexpected and rather amusing surprise when a pigeon managed to enter the aircraft, sparking laughter, confusion and a flurry of mobile phones recording the moment. The incident, captured by traveller Karn Parekh, has since gone viral online.
A Feathered Intruder Takes Over the Aisle
Parekh’s video shows the bird flapping across the aisle as passengers react with a mix of amusement and disbelief. Some travellers pulled out their phones to film the spectacle, while others attempted to gently guide the pigeon toward an exit.
In the clip, one passenger is even seen standing in the aisle, hands outstretched, trying to catch the nimble intruder as it swoops overhead.
Parekh captioned the moment:
“A surprise guest in the flight. A moment of joy and humour. Enjoyed.”
The hashtag shared in his post suggests the incident occurred on a Vadodara-bound flight.
Internet Reacts With Humour
Social media users flocked to the comments section, joking about this “upgraded in-flight entertainment” and calling the pigeon a “VIP guest”. Many praised the rare light-hearted moment at a time when air travel across the country has been anything but smooth.
Incident Comes Amid IndiGo’s Turbulent Week
This viral moment arrives during a troubling phase for IndiGo. Over 450 flights were cancelled on Monday alone, marking the seventh straight day of disruptions. The airline has blamed a cockpit crew shortage due to revised Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL).
The government has now stayed the rule, and IndiGo expects operations to stabilise by December 10.
While the aviation sector battles operational turbulence, this unexpected airborne visitor offered passengers and the internet a brief, humorous escape from a chaotic week.
