The woman, Bree Steele, who currently lives in Mumbai, booked an Uber to get home. What should have been a 15-minute journey turned into a two-hour ride due to the heavy traffic caused by Chhath Puja celebrations. Stuck for over 30 minutes in the same spot, Bree was growing restless when her driver quietly stepped out, returning with a bottle of water.

When Bree tried to pay, he smiled and said, 'You are our guest.'

Kindness in Action

As the traffic eased, the driver surprised her again this time bringing kebabs and cold drinks so she wouldn’t stay hungry. Touched by his thoughtfulness, Bree shared the story on Instagram, writing how his kindness made her day.

She added that this wasn’t her first experience with such generosity in India. “Why do all my best stories here involve Uber drivers?” she joked, recalling how others had once rescued her from floods and even retrieved a lost shoe.

India’s Spirit of Warmth

Social media users flooded the comments with praise, calling the driver a symbol of true Indian hospitality. One wrote, “This is the India we’re proud of where guests are treated like gods.”

A small act, a big heart and a reminder that humanity still shines bright on the busy streets of Mumbai.
