The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday shared latest update on the formation of a low pressure area over southeast and adjoining Eastcentral Bay of Bengal. Under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over north Andaman Sea and neighbourhood, IMD said, a low pressure area is likely to form over southeast and adjoining Eastcentral Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours.

As per the IMD forest issued yesterday, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha like Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Koraput in the next 24 hours.
As per India Meterological Department's regional office in Bhubaneswar, several parts of Odisha are likely to witness heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in the next 24 hours.
While a yellow warning has been issued for the next 24 hours, an orange warning has been issued for the subsequent 24 hours as thunderstorm, lighting, and gusty wind is predicted over several Odisha districts.
Odisha is likely to witness thunderstorm activities under impact of Nor'wester from today. The India Meteorological Department has issued warning on the inclement weather for several districts of the state till March 31. Thunderstorm, rainfall, lightning and gusty wind may be experienced during this period.
