The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday predicted heavy rainfall activities in several parts of Odisha starting from August 18. As per IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar, a fresh low pressure area is likely to form over north Bay of Bengal around August 19. IMD Bhubaneswar scientist Umashankar Das said yellow warning for heavy rainfall activities in several parts of Odisha has been issued till August 21.

The southwest monsoon has arrived in Kerala, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Thursday.
As per the IMD, the system is about 860 km west-south-west of Goa, 970 km south-west of Mumbai, 1050 km south south-west of Porbandar and 1350 km south of Karachi.
