The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday predicted heavy rainfall activities in several parts of Odisha starting from August 18. As per IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar, a fresh low pressure area is likely to form over north Bay of Bengal around August 19. IMD Bhubaneswar scientist Umashankar Das said yellow warning for heavy rainfall activities in several parts of Odisha has been issued till August 21.

The Severe Cyclonic Storm Michaung weakened into a deep depression on Tuesday night as it made its way through north Andhra Pradesh to Southern Odisha.
These visuals are from AGS Colony in Velachery of Chennai. Several streets have been submerged after intense rainfall under the influence of cyclone Michaung. Rescue ops are underway with the help of boats.
