A low pressure area is likely to form over North Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours under the influence of a cyclonic circulation which now lies over west Myanmar and its neighbourhood.The system is likely to become more marked during the subsequent 24 hours and move west-northwestwards thereafter.

A low pressure area is very likely to form over the same region during the next 24 hours, said the IMD.
According to a bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department, Sambalpur emerged as the hottest place in the State with mercury reaching up to 44.2 degrees Celsius today.
As per the IMD, the southwest monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of South Arabian Sea and Maldives area, some parts of Lakshadweep area, entire Comorin area, some more parts of South Bay of Bengal and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal today.
