As per the latest forecast by the Bhubaneswar Centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the low pressure area over South Thailand and neighbourhood with the associated cyclonic circulation is likely to intensify and reach North Andhra Pradesh-Odisha coasts by the morning of 4th December, 2021.
The met centre has issued a ‘Yellow Warning’ for heavy rainfall which is likely to occur over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri and Jagatsinghpur on December 3rd. The weather department has also sounded an ‘Orange Warning’ for very heavy rainfall expected on Dec 4th over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Bhadrak, Balasore and Jajpur.
During the same period, extremely heavy falls are also likely at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Puri and Jagatsinghpur.

The Severe Cyclonic Storm Michaung weakened into a deep depression on Tuesday night as it made its way through north Andhra Pradesh to Southern Odisha.
