The Low Pressure area has become well marked over southeast Bay of Bengal adjoining the Andaman Sea. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and concentrate into a Depression over southeast Bay of Bengal during the next 12 hours and further intensify into a Cyclonic Storm over Central Bay during subsequent 24 hours.
As per the latest forecast, wind speed in north Andhra and coastal Odisha is likely to touch 70-80kmph gusting up to 90 kmph, while the gusting wind in sea would be around 110kmph, said IMD scientist Umashankar Das. Heavy rainfall warning has been issued for several districts in the wake of the possible cyclone.
