Continuous Rainfall Expected In Odisha For Next Five To Seven Days: Director IMD Bhubaneswar
Odisha is likely to experience light to moderate rainfall for the next five to seven days, informed the Regional Centre of the India Meteorological Department in Bhubaneswar on August 8.The cyclonic circulation over West Jharkhand and the surrounding areas, combined with an active Monsoon trough, is expected to bring rainfall. According to the director of IMD’s Bhubaneswar Manorama Mohanty, though the rainfall is expected to continue for the next five to seven days, its intensity is likely to be comparatively less.Meanwhile, the IMD has issued a yellow warning to nine districts for the next 24 hours. The districts are Sundargarh, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Nuapada, Sambalpur, Bargarh and Jharsuguda. Similarly, heavy rainfall is expected in Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh and Keonjhar districts in the subsequent 24 hours.While the intensity of rainfall is likely to decrease from August 10, it is predicted that the intensity will again pick up from August 13.
