Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) cruised to a 7-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals in the Match 43 of IPL 2021 at Dubai on Wednesday.
Put into bat first, the Royals suffered a spectacular batting meltdown to end at a below-par score of 149/9 in 20 overs. At one stage the Royals were 100/1, but they lost next eight wickets for just 49 runs in the last 9 overs to squander hopes of a big total.
Chasing a modest score of 150, RCB hunted down the target with still 17 balls to spare. After the dismissal of skipper Kohli, Bharat and Maxwell stitched a 69-run stand with the latter hitting a fifty in just 30 balls.
Yuzi Chahal was adjudged Player of the Match for his spell of 18 in 4 overs and picking up two crucial wickets. With 14 points now, Bangalore stands third in the table while this win has strengthened its chances of making it to the playoffs. Rajasthan are languishing at 7th spot with 4 wins in 11 matches.
