Congress MLA Suresh Routray today came down heavily on ex-MP Pradeep Majhi after his resignation from the primary membership of the party. Taking a jibe at Majhi, Sura said, "Someone who is hungry for power and money, cannot remain stable in one party. Pradeep Majhi left Congress with a selfish motive. But his resignation won’t have any impact on the party."
Meanwhle, the senior Congress leader also told mediapersons how he was approached to join BJD almost two decades ago. "19 years ago, I was offered to join BJD. I have always shared a cordial relationship with Naveen Patnaik. Whenever I go to meet him, he allows. Whenever I have sought help for any work, he has done that. The help sought was pertaining to the problems of the people, not to address personal issues."
He further said, "Whenever I have asked help for any person’s work he has done that. He offers me tea and often asks for suggestion as is being asked from a senior leader. I have given him suggestions regarding drinking water problems, roads, schools in rural areas and have asked him to extend ‘Indira Awas’ benefits. He also accepts my suggestions. Whenever I have approached him for any work he has cooperated. (19 years ago) he had asked me Kahan Khade hoge (where do I want to stand from), Jatni, Central or North? I said Patnaik Ji thanks, Congress me marengey (will die in Congress), Jatni mein marengey (will die in Jatni). He said Thank You. He knew my mind and heart is clear."
