The members of the ruling BJD (Biju Janata Dal) on Sunday staged protest against the Centre over rising prices of fuel and cooking gas cylinder. Party workers took out a protest march and cycle rally towards the Governor’s House.
A few members were also seen riding tangas and bullock carts as a mark of protest against skyrocketing fuel price. Women activists of BJD cooked in ‘traditional chulhas’ to protest unabated price rise of LPG cylinders.

"The petty politics by the opposition parties is an insult to the people's mandate, who made Narendra Modi the Prime Minister twice with full majority," Shah stated.
BJP General Secretary, Prithviraj Harichandan alleged, “The Centre has already granted more than 9.59 lakh homes under Awas Yojana to Odisha since January this year, but the State government is yet to finalise the beneficiary list.”
