Over 62 Lakh Escaped Poverty In Last 5 Years In Odisha, But State 8th Poorest In Country
Odisha has been ranked as the eighth poorest state in India in the NITI Aayog’s ‘National Multidimensional Poverty Index. The NITI Aayog’s ‘National Multidimensional Poverty Index: A Progress of Review 2023’ report was released in New Delhi on July 17. The report says 62 lakh 62 thousand people in the state have moved out of poverty in the last five years. However, the position of the state has continuously been worsening.
