Odisha: National School Of Drama’s Outreach Centre To Be Opened In Bhubaneswar

In a significant move to promote the performing arts in the state, the National School of Drama (NSD) is set to establish an outreach centre in Odisha, informed Minister for Odia Language, Literature, and Culture Suryabanshi Suraj. As per sources, the outreach centre of NSD will operate temporarily from the Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre in Bhubaneswar in the initial phase. Later, it will be shifted to its own campus.
As per the Minister, the NSD outreach centre would offer valuable opportunities to students aspiring to build careers in theatre and acting. The centre will provide courses in acting, screenplay, direction and design. The centre will start offering courses from the next academic year.
