Odisha CM pulls up senior officials over arrangements ahead of PM Modi’s Jharsuguda visit

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday visibly expressed his frustration over senior officials while reviewing preparations ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Jharsuguda on Saturday.

According to sources, the Chief Minister inspected the arrangements for the VVIP event and noticed some lapses in stage construction and other logistical setups. 

Officials, including Police DG Y.B. Khurania, SPG IG, and other senior administrative officers, were reportedly asked to address all shortcomings immediately. 

CM Majhi instructed that all arrangements, ncluding security, infrastructure, and event logistics, must be completed flawlessly before the Prime Minister’s arrival.

Sources added that the Chief Minister expressed specific concern over the smaller size of the stage where PM Modi is scheduled to address the gathering, as well as the limited space in the designated ‘D Zone’.

Prime Minister Modi is set to visit Odisha on Saturday, during which he will lay foundation stones for multiple projects in Amlipali and address a youth gathering. Authorities have reportedly intensified their efforts to ensure smooth execution of the programme, leaving no room for errors.

CM Majhi is in Jharsuguda and personally overseeing all preparations. He is reportedly emphasizing that every detail meet the highest standards ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit.
