In A Hit- And-Run Case, Labourer Run Over By Speeding Car In Bhubaneswar

In an alleged case of hit-and-run, a labourer was killed after being run over by a speeding car while he was sleeping on the footpath at Rajmahal square in Bhubaneswar late on Friday night.According to eyewitnesses, the car dragged the deceased labourer to some distance, killing him on the spot. The deceased labourer was sleeping on the footpath when he was run over by the speeding car.Several other labourers who were sleeping on the footpath had a close shave in the incident.Following the mishap, when some people chased the car, the driver escaped towards Daya River embankment. Police investigation is currently underway.
