Uttarakashi Tunnel Rescue: Rs 1 Lakh For Each Rescued Workers; Baukhnag Temple To Be Rebuilt

After 17 days of tormenting experience for the 41 trapped workers inside Silkyara Tunnel at Uttarkashi, the rescuers finally managed to penetrate through the debris to rescue the workers. When the auger machine broke down, authorities brought two-dozen of rat miners who concluded digging the last few meters of the tunnel. Subsequently, the trapped workers were extracted one by one through a 90 mtrs pipe which was inserted through the rubbles of the collapsed tunnel.
