The incident of alleged assault on AAP MP Swati Maliwal inside Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal's house by his personal secretary, Bibhav Kumar, has taken a new turn. While the controversy is taking over the political sphere, Arivind Kejriwal’s personal assistant Bibhav Kumar has filed a counter-complaint against Maliwal. Kumar alleged that MP Maliwal tried to "create a ruckus and assault" him as she "forcefully and unauthorizedly" entered the Delhi Chief Minister's residence on May 13. He further added that the MP was trying to falsely implicate him in an effort to create undue pressure. Bibhav kumar claimed that Swali Maliwal reached CM’s residence at around 9:22 AM and despite polite request by security officers to wait until her appointment details verification, Maliwal abused them and said ‘How dare you stop an MP? The Aam Aadmi Party, meanwhile, has backed Bibhav Kumar. AAP leader Atishi said Swati Maliwal had reached the CM's residence without an appointment. The party also organized a press conference and released a purported video in which Maliwal can be seen arguing with the security personnel at Kejriwal's house. After the press conference, Swati Maliwal wrote in a post on X that the CCTV footage was being tampered with. Targeting AAP for questioning her character, Maliwal said that two days ago, the party had accepted the truth in a press conference and, today, it has taken a U-turn. BJP leader and finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that instead of making a statement on the matter, the Delhi CM is moving around ‘shamelessly’ with the accused.
