India will see a never-seen-before marriage, courtesy this young woman who is all set to get married to herself! Come June 11, 24-year-old Kshama Bindu will take the 'saat phere' (seven circles), with herself. Yes, you heard that right!
Kshama Bindu is a resident of Gujarat's Vadodara and will tie the knot with herself. The ceremony will include every Hindu marriage rituals like Pheras, applying of Sindoor (vermilion), but there won't be a groom or 'baraat'.
While the idea may sound bizarre, it is one of the growing relationship trends in some parts of the world and is called 'sologamy' or 'self-marriage'.
According to Kshama, she never wanted to get married but being a bride was always in her wish-list. Kshama loves herself unconditionally. And when she got to know about the concept of 'sologamy', she decided to marry herself.
Well, Bindu's 'self-marriage' is possibly the first of its kind in India.
Speaking about her plans for the wedding, Kshama said that she will wear the vermilion, perform all the rituals, and will take five vows for herself. In addition, she has decided to go on a two-week solo honeymoon to Goa after wedding.
