Two huge Shaligram stones from Nepal reached Ram Janmabhoomi Ayodhya. Of the two Shaligram stones, one weighs 26 tonnes and the other 14 tonnes. Both the stones are said to be about 60 million years old. Shaligram stones are considered to be a representation of Lord Vishnu. These are found in sacred rivers of Himalayas, particularly Gandaki River in Nepal. As per mythology, Lord Vishnu had taken the form of Shaligram Stone to defeat demon king Hayagriva. Shaligram stones will be used for carving an idol of Rama Lalla for the Ram Mandir.
