Once Living In Shadows Of Militancy, Assam’s Baksa Now Finding Self-Reliance Though Govt Schemes

Once racked with militancy violence, Assam’s Baksa district is witnessing development and transformation across sectors and spheres with central and state govt schemes. The villagers especially women are here in various pursuits such as beekeeping, handloom and making pickles to make themselves self-reliant. The villagers said they were also receiving the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana under Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Vikash Mission.
