Amid the ongoing row over NEET, DMK leader Kanimozhi Karunanidhi on Wednesday met Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at his residence in Bhubaneswar.
During the meeting, Karunanidhi handed over the letter of Tamil Nadu CM M K Stalin to Patnaik regarding the problems faced by rural and poor students in clearing NEET examination.
The letter further emphasised on the need to make the exam inclusive. After the meeting, DMK spokesperson S Annadurai informed that CM Naveen has said that they are also looking into the matter.
Earlier, Patnaik had raised this issue with union government and stressed the importance of making national exams inclusive. He also suggested central Government to take steps in this regard covering NEET, IIT and UPSC.
However, the meeting was described as a "courtesy call" to the Speaker by the Prime Minister and his cabinet ministers, which included Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi and Law Minister Kiren Rijiju.
Speaking exclusively to odishatv.in, Supreme Court advocate Vivek Raja said even before the election commission comes into the picture, Rahul Gandhi will stand automatically disqualified under the provisions of RPA.
These meetings are being held in over 30 different work-streams comprising Sherpa Track Working Groups, Finance Track work streams, Ministerial meetings and Engagement Groups.
A complaint was later lodged at his alleged “Modi surname” remarks by BJP MLA and former Gujarat minister Purnesh Modi
